Task: Manage Quality
Monitor and maintain the ‘quality of service’ across all activities involved in the Operations & Support function
Purpose

The Quality Management function monitors and maintains the ‘quality of service’ across all activities involved in the Operations & Support function. Quality Management should cover (but is not limited to) areas of Data Quality, Information Quality, and Documentation Quality.  As well, it should oversee the ongoing improvement of all Support and Operations processes and procedures.  Data quality management ensures that responsibility, accountability, and authority are associated with auditing and reviewing the quality of data.  This should also encompass effective metadata management. Quality of Information subjective and measuring quality is difficult.  However, the underlying purpose of the SPSS system is the delivery of quality information to support business decision-making.  Information quality management defines criteria for assessing the quality of the information delivered and works with the different types of information stewards (definers, creators, and consumers) to ensure valuable information continues to be delivered.  Document Management ensures that all documentation relating to the SPSS system is maintained at an optimum level of quality.  The documentation portfolio encompasses a wide range of documentation, including system overview documentation, operations and support procedures, enterprise architecture models, application portfolio documentation, design documentation and administration documentation.
